The Salon / Three credited-photo tours

Look at the object.
Keep its context.

Three short, self-guided paths through five identified watch photographs. Every image keeps its variant, creator and license visible.

These are visual reading exercises. Images are not matched for physical scale or lighting and cannot authenticate a watch.

Case & proportion

Compare a rectangular Must Tank with a later quartz Nautilus. These are the photographed variants, not the Santos or Calatrava.

A Must de Cartier Tank with a gold-colored rectangular case, Roman-numeral dial and dark leather strap.

A Les Must de Cartier Tank photographed by Guy Sie. This family example is not a 1917 original or a Tank Louis Cartier.

Notice the vertical case sides, Roman numerals and strap continuity. Production date, exact reference and metal fineness are not established by this photograph.

  2. Nautilus · later two-tone quartz example

A two-tone Patek Philippe Nautilus; the photographer identifies this example as quartz. This later variant is distinct from the original 1976 mechanical Nautilus. Notice the continuous case-and-bracelet outline. The movement type is attributed to the photographer, rather than authenticated from this still image.

Dial & elapsed time

Look at the Submariner-Date dial and the Speedmaster Automatic chronograph. The Omega is the date-window Automatic variant, not the NASA-qualified Moonwatch.

A Rolex Submariner-Date with a black dial, black timing bezel and steel-colored bracelet.

Rolex Submariner-Date, identified on the source page as reference 16610.

Compare the bezel scale and the date aperture as different kinds of information. This later family example does not establish specifications for the 1953 launch watch.

  2. Speedmaster Automatic · date-window variant

An Omega Speedmaster Automatic with a date window, photographed by Hobo. This image illustrates a different Speedmaster variant from the hand-wound Moonwatch discussed in the history. Compare the three subdials with the separate date window. The exact reference and movement calibre remain unverified; this is a variant comparison, not a NASA or Apollo illustration.

Bracelet & geometry

Read the junction of case and bracelet on the source-identified Royal Oak 15202 and later two-tone quartz Nautilus.
